PRAGUE'S COOLEST THEATRE FESTIVAL

Prague Fringe: 25th May - 1st June

Prague Fringe turns up the music programme, adds another quirky new venue and brings an exciting mix of performances from around the globe to the Czech Capital for the seventh year of this popular event. From 25th May to the 1st June 2008 the Prague Fringe will welcome around 40 productions from as far a-field as Australia, Canada, India, The Netherlands and the UK. Expect to see some of the best new theatre, cabaret, music, comedy and dance shows. The event will appeal to all tastes, age groups, nationalities and with something on offer for all levels of language skills.

From Hitler to Chaplin, Bach to the blues, one-man shows to a 30 strong saxophone orchestra and bagpipes and drums like you've never heard them before, the Fringe Festival offers something for everyone, always accessible and never elitist. The emphasis is on an accessible selection of new and sometimes cutting edge theatre brought together for a truly international experience to be enjoyed by Czechs, ex-pats and visitors alike. From camp musical comedy to the war on terror, from Sartre to cutting edge short films, the Prague Fringe has it all.

Tucked below the iconic Prague Castle in Mala Strana in the centre of the city are the nine intimate and unique Fringe venues. Productions will be staged in such spaces as a candle-lit church and smoky dungeon jazz bars; along with the Fringe Club festival-goers can also enjoy the atmospheric tea tent.

Hugely popular and firmly established in most English speaking countries Fringe Festivals provide a marathon of diverse presentations. The Prague Fringe offers the same experience where it's possible to see 4 or 5 shows in a day, mingle with the performers and enjoy low ticket prices, all in some unique venues in one of the worlds most vibrant and beautiful cities.
